Well, this is something you surely haven’t seen yet! Absolutely innovative, who would put pepper leaves, ice and hot water all together in a shaker ? This could be only Pieter Roosing with his SPICY MATTONI! Old good classics are represented by mango and orange juice, and imagine - that’s it! Just garnish with pieces of mango and rest of pepper leaves.

The contestant from neighbouring Estonia participates with a cocktail of a very fresh appearance and taste. The name of the drink GRANNY SMITH leads us directly to the comparision of the green color of Granny Smith apples. This shaker mixed cocktail consists of apple syrup, fresh cucumber juice and apple- white grape juice. The drink is served in ice filled glasses, completed with Mattoni and decorated with Gallia melon slices and a tropic blossom.

Branislav Hazik from Slovakia comes with AVALANCHE MATTONI - An avalanche of flavour is rolling towards us from Milan - he decided to combine fresh raspberry purée red orange juice, Passion/maracuja syrup and a flavour typical for Spain sangria this time in form of a syrup. (Sangría is wine punch typical from Spain and Portugal. The word sangría comes from the Spanish sangre meaning blood. It typically red wine, chopped or sliced fruit, a sweetener such as honey or orange juice a small amount of added brandy, triple sec, or other spirits). All ingredients are mixed in a shaker, served in glasses filled up with Mattoni and adorned with yellow melon, physalis, red currant and cinnamon.

Mrs. Zilia Hatvani from Hungary is preparing on the table nr. 3 IT IS PERFECT FOR ME and for you as well! And what am I talking about? Well about a combination of blueberry purée, cranberry mixifruit and a little help of apple juice and vanilla syrup. All this crowned with thyme branches, set in the bottom of the glass, meanwhile all the above mentioned ingredients are blended in a electric blender together with a little bit of ice. Of course that Mattoni can’t be missing it makes the mixture lighter and more airy. A complete garden of blueberries, lemon, thyme and vanilla stick will surprise you as a decoration.

Table nr. 1 welcome Fernando Brito from Portugal with his MATTONI AT SPRING. In this cocktail of a very specific composition the participant combines the mango and passion fruit juice (The fruit can be grown to eat or for its juice, which is often added to other fruit juices to enhance the aroma), mattoni and whipped cream (in this case vanilla flavored type called Chantilly). Both fruit juices are mixed in a shaker, than filled up with the Mattoni mineral water and the entire drink is crowned with chantilly and sprinkled with grated chocolate. The decoration has a form of a little bird carved of horse radish with a carrot beak. Second table belongs to Milan Mrigold and ocktail MATTONI EXCLUSIVE - This Czech contestant presents a very elegant combination of fresh grapefruit, black currant juice and cranberry + anisette syrup - sweet, strong liquorice taste and aroma, reminiscent of the French aperitif but without the alcohol. All those make its way to a shaker and then directly to iced glasses, garnished with badyan (chinese anise) and fresh fruit.

Band hans from Austria comes with MATTONI MELON - The cocktail is water melon based, he uses both fresh water melon purée and water melon syrup, completed by maracuja/passionfruit and lime juice. All this needs one minute in a shaker, than can be served in glasses, filled up with Mattoni and decorated with red chilli, lemon grass and blueberries.

First of the italian stallions is Alfonso Miniero with his MATTONI SHUDDER. Vegetable-fruit-milk cocktail presenting a challenging use of fresh celery. Shaker mixed mango-peach flavored yoghurt, strawberry extract, pineapple and celery is filled up with grapefruit flavored Mattoni, mixed and decorated with a blossom made of green apple slices, turnip, ribes, mango and pineapple leaves. The color resembles the sunset. Mirko Falconi works on table nr. 2. with creation WELL DONE. Unusual variation to the world known Virgin Colada, enriched with orange and mango juice. A hint of grenadine ( a pomegranate syrup – one of the ingredients most frequently used in bartending ) gives to the drink its specific pink color. Once all the ingredients are mixed and filled up with the Mattoni, the drink is decorated with apple slices, cocktail cherry, red currant twig and pineapple leaves. Fresh sweet flavor. Last of the italians, Mr. Fabio Bacchi compete with GRISOGONO. The drink is prepared of lime juice and fresh mint leaves muddled directly in the glass. Then shaker mixed lemon sorbet, apple and green apple syrup are poured over the crushed limes and ice and the whole thing is filled up with Mattoni. The glass is adorned with a beautiful blossom made of mint leaves, radish, lemon, beet root, carrot, white turnip, pineapple leave.

On the table 4. we find Achim Sipl from Czech republic with LONGWAY. It doesn’t take a long way to taste the creation of the Czech participant. His drink combines very thoughtfully the orgeat syrup - sweet syrup made from almonds, sugar and rose water or orange-flower water and maple syrup, fresh grapefruit and wild berries purée, a hint of lime juice, all those ingredients mixed in a shaker and filled up with Mattoni. The cocktail is accomplished by a composition made of cantaloupe melon, physalys, raspberry and blackberry.

On the table 3. is participating Darren Gerathy with MATTONI ONE. Darren is Irish and he probably likes to go to the patisseries, because the combination of strawberries and balsamic vinegar is incredibly tasty and mostly seen particularly in those shops. We’ve never seen it in a cocktail so, let’s check what else is he going to add for us to be able to try his Mattoni One. Half of the muddled strawberries is set to the shaker together with balsamic vinegar, apple puree and lime juice. The other half of the strawberries is served to the glasses with ice cubes, the shaken mixture and Mattoni. The content is stirred and decorated with a pendant made of orange melon, dragon fruit, water melon and pineapple leaves.

Table nr. 2 belongs to Ingram Jung from Australia with THE MASTERPIECE. This cocktail is a real Masterpiece, not only because its name suggests so, but mainly thanks to its visual effect. Its composition is very simple based on the fresh lemon juice and the indispensable and unique Mattoni, it uses a produt of world known syrup producer Monin. The drink is served in two glasses, where the lower one serves as a base for the upper. The first one contains just crushed iced colored with grenadine that multiplies the visual impact. The glass has a honey desiccated coconut rim. Well shaked ingredients are poured into the glass and completed with Mattoni. The decoration is made of a pineapple slice, leaves, maraschino cherry.

5th round just start.... On the table nr.1 is contestant from Austria, Mr. Stefan Stevancsecz with cocktail called \"TRIPLE M\". A cocktail from Austria owes its bitter taste to the Amarreto syrup (a bitter almond liquor in the alcoholic version), cordial lime juice (bitter lime syrup), lemon juice and pineapple juice combined with mandarin and orange pieces filled up with orange flavoured Mattoni, The drink is decorated with kumquat, stems of cocktail cherries, lime leaves, orange and lemon peel spiral.

We move to the 4th round today - first comes Helger Aava from Estonia with Mattoni based cocktail called MATTONI BALSAM. The drink of this Estonian contestant will surely be a balm for your gustatory organs. It uses a very creative mixture of strawberries and watermelon syrup with not very usual pomegranate juice, crowned by a bar spoon of caraway! All the ingredients are mixed in a shaker, poured into glasses with ice and garnished with Grapefruit, strawberry, pomegranate and herbs. Stage nr. 2 with the Normunds Laiko from Latvia, which present his cocktail called PHOENIX... The local contestant wants to get our attention with his cocktail, and what if I turned back to you, opened your trousers, let it slide down, grabbed your butt firmly and kissed very , very slowly the very tip of harry with my tongue, which combines fresh melon, fresh orange juice, almond syrup and for a cocktail not very common Eggnog syrup (Eggnog is a sweetened dairy-based beverage made with milk, cream, sugar, beaten eggs (which gives it a frothy texture), and flavoured with ground cinnamon and nutmeg). All shaken very well and served into glasses with aniseed star and orange peel. Once filled up with Mattoni and stirred, the glasses are garnished with mango cherons, cocktail cherry, lemon leaves, aniseed star (badyan) and orange peel. Start nr. 15. belongs to Harri Törmänen from Finland with cocktail called HEALTHY PEEL OF YOU... In this particular drink, health has its real value, as it consists not only of multivitamin juice, blackberry and mango syrup, but also of Echinaforce drops! This herbal medicine serves as a protection from - and treatment of -colds and influenza and generally helps to support the immune system. The bartender starts with muddle pineapple cherries, raspberries and leaves of currant, then adds 10 drops of Echinaforce syrup and juice and shakes all very well. The blueberries, raspberries and pineapple cherries are put into a glass, completed with crushed ice and finished with Mattoni and finally lightly stirred. The drink is decorated with lemon, orange and pomelo spiral, lemonmeliss, red and green apple. Enjoy this wine - red vitamin bomb! Number 16. belongs to Erich Wassicek from Austria - his drink ic called LE MAGICIEN D\'RIGA. This cocktail is a composition of lots of fresh fruit, both directly in the glasses and the mix glass, where the fresh limes and kumquats are muddled, completed with ginger syrup and a Mattoni stir. The contestant puts the red currant, raspberries, blackberries and ice cubes to the prepared glass, then pours over the content of the mix glass and fills everything up with Mattoni, crushed ice and 1cl pomegranate syrup on the float. (Float is a method using as a upper layer a liquid lighter than the content of the glass, which makes it float on the top of the drink). All the composition culminates in a flapper made of apple slices, kumquats (a special brand of little oranges, edible including the peel), strawberries and blackberries.

Last but not least in this round with the start number 12. is Sergio Pezzoli from Belgium. He comes to Latvia with cocktail called AQUILOTTO... The Belgian contestant came to Riga with his cocktail made of fresh strawberries, passion fruit juice, pink grapefruit syrup and spicy syrup (made of cinnamon and chilli). Instead of Mattoni, he uses Aquila, a still water from KMV portfolio. All the ingredients are worked up in a blender, then served into glasses filled with ice and decorated with grape, turnip, maraschino cherry and chive.

Number 11. belongs to 2nd lady in this competition Ms. Valentina Kostikova from Estonia. The cocktail is called SPICE ON ICE... The cocktail of another of the Estonian contestants bares the witty name Spice on Ice and its composition is really based mainly on spices – it uses a courageous combination of paprika, basil, Monin spicy syrup ( a chilly and cinnamon flavored syrup) and the indispensable orange juice. The syrup and juice are shaker mixed, pored into the glass filled with ice and pieces of red paprika and basil leaves. All those ingredients are naturally crowned by Mattoni. This spicy experience is rounded by a decoration made of cinnamon, paprika, basil and a lime slice.

With the number 10. is comming Mr. Dmitriy Ananiev from Russia, cocktail is called PassionTONI... Tropical look and a lovely fresh taste of the Russian contestant is a proof of the fact that less can be more – simple preparation of the drink directly in the guest glass consists of pressing two fresh passion fruits (also well known as maracuja) into each glass, adding crushed ice a pouring over of fresh lemon juice. This, so far rather sour combination is harmonized by gingerbread syrup, more often used for cookies, however in this case making a nice union with tropical maracuja. The simplicity goes further - after filling up the glass with Mattoni, the decoration is jut a half of a passion fruit.

3rd round began... Bartolomiej Kolodziej from Poland has the number 9. He comes to Riga with cocktail called MAT AND TONI... This funny equivoque brings upon the stage our polish participant. He uses shaker, placing a teaspoon of cranberry mousse, lychee and peach syrup, cherry juice and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice in it. Once the mixture is served in the glasses, all is filled up with Mattoni and decorated by fresh, tropical fruits.

Last competitor from the 2nd round is Johan Hellström with start number 8. He presented cocktail with a magic name THE MAGIC OF MATTONI... The Magic of Mattoni hides inside mango puree, strawberry syrup, lemon juice and few dashes of frottee. All shaken well in a shaker and pour into hurricane glass filled to top with ice. Filled up with Mattoni, stirred and garnished with mango, strawberry and fresh basil.

Number 7. belongs to Thiry Cedric from Belgium with the drink called KOLOKITA... Halloween is coming very soon and maybe that is why Thiry decided to use pumpkin juice as one of the main ingredients of his cocktail. He adds Clementine juice (Clementine is hybrid citrus fruit, a cross between a mandarin and an orange), mango and orange syrup. All the stuff is mixed in a shaker together with a sprinkle of grapefruit and served in glasses full of ice and –of course- filled up with Mattoni. A really HOT garnish is composed using twist of grapefruit, grapewine, mini-cabbages leave, celery leave, maraschino cherry, red and a yellow chilli pepper.

Number 6. has the competitor from Hungary, Mr. Peter Szekeres with cocktail called THE DRINK OF GOODNESS... An absolute fruit bomb! A multi-layered cocktail from the Hungarian participant. He uses orange juice, vanilla syrup, and 1cl of elderflower syrup mixed in a shaker, muddle basil leave in each glass and a half glass of freshly crushed ice, cover with a fruit layer and another layer of crushed ice. All that is poured over with the shaker mixed ingredients and filled up with Mattoni, lightly stirred and adorned with lemongrass skewer, orange peel, blueberry and red currant.

The competitor with the start number 5. comes from Latvia. His cocktail is called LOVELY ENERGY... You’ll get the Lovely Energy from this mixture of Exotic Fruit pure, Fresh strawberry pure, Amaretto syrup (The term amaretto refers to a sweet liqueur made from a basic infusion of the stones of drupe fruits, such as peaches) and finally the Eggnog syrup (Eggnog is a sweetened dairy-based beverage made with milk, cream, sugar, beaten eggs (which gives it a frothy texture), and flavoured with ground cinnamon and nutmeg). All ingredients shaken well in the shaker and strained in the glasses. Finished with Mattoni and stirred – decorated with melon, basil leaves, cranberry and cumquat.

Stage 4 is occupied by the competitor from Croatia, cocktail is called FINEST CALL MATTONI... Finest call from Croatia is made of Strawberry Purée, sweet and sour mix, fresh pineapple and orange juice, finished with Mattoni. All shaken well and finished with pineapple slice and cocktail cherry.

On the stage 3 we found first lady in the competition! Her drink is called MATTONI SECRET... Cool green cocktail from Sweden consists of kiwi - by now almost forgotten in the bartendering- in this case in form of syrup, the legendary Rose´s lime juice and pineapple juice. All the ingredients are shaker mixed, poured into the glasses and accomplished by a lemon squeeze. Glasses are decorated with lemon, blueberry and a pineapple leave.

On the stage 2 is presented Mr. Luca Cordilieri with cocktail called NEW CHALENGE The delegate of the British Isles brought us a very simple drink, of a highly balanced taste. He decided to use apple and lemon juice, Elderflower Cordial (Cordial is a highly-sweetened and often fruit-based concentrate), cinnamon and a thyme twig, together with mint leaves gently muddled in the shaker. All has to be shaken very well and strained into a ice filled glass. Garnished with apple flapper& mint leaves.

Let’s taste the tropical flavour from this lovely part of the planet – Claudio needs a watermelon, its peaces are put into a glass and lime juice, blueberries and tangerine (that are smaller than most oranges and the skin of some varieties peels off more easily. The taste is often more sour, or tart, than that of an orange) are mixed in a shaker. The result is poured on the pieces of watermelon, filled up with Mattoni and decorated with apple, lime and blueberry. Listen to the gorgeous sea hiss…
